Understanding Disc Attributes

Disc attributes are permanent and will not change with repeated use of the disc. Discs can be one of the following:

  • Base: Discs with no attributes
  • Single Attribute: Discs with one attribute
  • Double Attribute: Discs with two attributes

Note: The order of the attributes does not matter (ex. A Light+Extra Glide disc and an Extra Glide+Light disc will perform the same)

Beat Up

The Beat Up attribute causes discs to fly shorter distances than they normally would.

Note 1: Unlike real life, discs in Disc Golf Valley will not become “beat up” over time.

Note 2: You will not be offered a Beat Up disc via a level up reward.

Accurate

Accurate discs have less "wobble" when you pull them back and therefore are more likely to go in the direction you are aiming.

Note: This attribute will not appear on Distance Drivers.

Extra Glide

Extra glide rides the wind and extends the flight of the disc.  When paired with "Light" you have the combo that will go the furthest in the air.

Note: This attribute is available on all classes of discs.

Extra Fade

Extra fade means the disc will have a stronger fade at the end of the flight (think "Overstable Flight").  The fade means that it will move quite a bit to the left or right (depending on handedness) but generally after going straight for a fair distance first.  Extra Fade will impact the overall distance having some of the shortest flights of the attributes.

Note 1: This attribute will not appear on Putters.

Note 2: This attribute will not appear in conjunction with "Extra Turn."

Extra Turn

Extra Turn means the disc will have a stronger turn at the start of the flight (think "Understable" Flight).  The turn means that it will move quite a bit more to the left or right (depending on handedness) at the start of the flight, before straightening out and depending on the stability of the disc, fading out at the end.  With strong winds, you run the risk of throwing a "Turn and Burn" with these kinds of discs.

Note 1: This attribute will not appear on Putters.

Note 2: This attribute will not appear in conjunction with "Extra Fade."

Heavy

This reduces the impact of the wind but also reduces distance.

Note 1: This attribute only appears on Putters and Midranges.

Note 2: This attribute will not appear in conjunction with "Light.”

Light

This attribute increases the impact of the wind but increases distance. You can mitigate the impact of the wind by lowering your aim with Light discs.

Light discs have a lot of "initial lift" and when thrown high you can get it to "stall" and fade strongly.

Note 1: When paired with "Extra Glide," you have the combination that will travel the furthest in the air.

Note 2: This attribute does not appear in conjunction with "Heavy” and will not appear on putters.

Big Skip

This attribute gives the disc a big skip, or large bounce, when it hits the ground, giving extra distance.

When paired with "Light," you have the combo that will go the furthest distance overall in the game. When paired with “Extra Glide,” you have the combo that will go second furthest overall.

Note 1: This attribute does not appear on putters or midranges.

Note 2: You can experience a "Skip Putter" by using the "Skip Disc" option for the bag in a Friendly Round.

Sticky

This is essentially the reverse of the "Big Skip" attribute, and reduces the impact of collisions. This means that it can cling to the ground (or chains) better than any other attribute in the game.

Note: This attribute will only appear on putters and midranges.

Wind Break

This attribute reduces the impact of the wind and gives you a more "normalized" flight. This attribute cuts the wind by about half.

Note: This attribute will not appear on Putters.

Roll

This attribute increases the upright "Rolling" of the disc when the disc comes in contact with the ground on an angle. While any disc can be used to throw a roller shot, discs with this attribute will roll longer.

Note 1: This attribute does not affect the flight path in the air, however air shots after landing will have a “sticky” effect and not slide very far (quite useful!).

Note 2: This attribute will only appear on Fairway Drivers and Distance Drivers.

Note 3: You can experience a "Roll Putter" or "Roll Midrange" by using the "Roll Disc" option for the bag in a Friendly Round.

There are three types of color groupings in the game.

Solid

Burst

Note: The Yellow / Olive Burst pattern was only available in a Beta and was eventually converted to the Orange / Brown pattern.

Marbled

Note: In the game code, these are actually identified as “Recycled” plastic.
