If you find your straight putt is blocked by an object you can laterally slide all the way one direction, then spin your view using the aiming feature. This will rotate the basket into the clear. In putting mode, grab the disc, pull it back and laterally until it is in line with the basket, then throw the putt. The putt will go straight along the newly created line and hopefully in the basket.
